Simplify "A Hero's Journey"

Mom's! This pandemic has taught me so much about people.  More important, it has taught me so much about myself.  Now living in this new world, I keep reflecting back on some of the biggest lessons I have learned.  My biggest support and foundation going through tough times has been my mother(s).   If you take a close look at the photos's I have used in the blog, there is a woman in the ocean just behind the young boy.  This beautiful brave person is his mother.  She took him out into the surf of one of the most aggressive surfing breaks on Maui.  She swam him out into the surf.  Always the protector.  The Momma Bear.  She gave him a safe space to go after his dream to surf.  She let go!  She set him free! Present in the moment Listen to those you are with. Put down your electronic device. Look people in the eye when communicating.  Listen to hear and understand. NOT to respond. Echo back what others say to gain clarity and understanding. Seek first to understand then seek to be understood.  Seek to understand the joys, interests and fears of others.  Share the moment. Be there in mind, body and spirit.  In the moment i t may be better to be kind than right.   Close your monkey mind.  Take a pause.  Deep breaths. Think. Act.  Learn to get quiet.  Listen to your inner voice.  Listen to your heart.  Listen to your gut.  Work the problem.  Always looking for the positive.  Your mind is wired to protect you.  Work to take control of your mind.  For your minds protection mechanisms could paralyze you from growth and taking action.  Be present with yourself and aware of y...
