Find Peace Under The Wave

Image
"The wise person not choosing to jump into floodwaters, but when surrounded by them, accepting struggle, endure by choosing peace over war".   Seneca, Moral Letters, 28.7 This is surfing.  Actually this is Life!  Paddling into big waves. Just relax, go with the flow of the ocean, duck dive under the wave avoiding the full power and negative forces.  By changing your perception of your position, you avoid the trauma of the negative energy crashing down on you.  You save yourself from the pain of being rolled.  Avoiding the possibility finding yourself  pinned to the bottom of the ocean.   Duck diving, you find yourself at peace under the wave surrounded by the peaceful silence of submersion. The wave passes over head.  You arise to keep moving forward without loss of position.  You can do this in life.  When you identify the waves (drama)  of life are about to crash down on you, take a breath.  Duck dive.  Arise.  Continuing  to move with positive momentum. Good day my friends

Day 21

A good friend and mentor "Life Coach" walked up to  me at the end of January and said "Man you look like Shit!".  He then gave me a big hug and said "Welcome Home Brother!"  I was on Maui for a conference and COVID was looking like we had it  controlled and hope insight.  He sat me down in the sand and for 45 minuted I closed my eyes and we meditated and did breathe work.   I did not realize how bad  the pandemic and dealing with the mental beating "We" as health care worker were/had taken.  I am broken.  Never could I have imagined that patients and the general public would turn on us and treat us with such disrespect and disregard.  I can only relate it to what my friends experienced that  came home from service in Vietnam.  The health care worker has now become the next Vietnam Vet in the public eye. At the end of our meditation we went surfing!  I felt great.  New energy.  I realized right then and there I must come home more often.  A Zen

Why I Serve

Image
"Life is Suffering" I am grateful for the system of Unbeatable Mind.  Mark Divine put it together to get people through the toughest training on the planet.  BUDS! (Is Mark a poser? Or the real deal). He gave me the tools. I did the work. It was always up to me.  What it boils down to is what Buddha taught.....life is suffering.  When you let go, you understand it’s ok to suffer.  Get calm, get in your own head.  Get really quiet.  You gain an internal knowing.  I got this!  It’s going to be ok.  It’s the Big 4 (Breathe, Positive Attitude, Micro Goals, Envision Success).  Then you are at peace.  Peace overflows. You are at first alone. Then with fellow sufferers. You serve yourself.  You serve your Swim buddy (your inner circle), your Ohana (your family).  Your tribe.  The world.  This is the flow state in its purest form.  You give, the universe gives back in spades. You support your “boat crew” whatever that is,  whoever that is or what that looks like. You serve, they serv

How I strive to live! What I have learned over years. This about sums it up. Today is a day I reflect on all I am. Today is a special day for me. I have now been brought back together with ALL of my family. So blessed to have the Mom and Dad who raised me and now I have my Birth parents and family in my life. I now know where I came from. I now have a clear vision where I am headed. I want my family and friends to know how grateful I am for all of you! I love you! Nothing like old friends (family). Because you can't make new old friends! Remember if you only knew who stood at your side throughout this journey we call life you would have nothing to fear! God resides within you and Christ is always by your side! Live life to its fullest potential! It's the only one You get ! Time is your most precious asset! Don't waste it! Take time to listen, be there for a friend in need, always be present, go see the person on your mind. At the very least Call! Write that

My Living Room My Wall, Putting the SOCIAL back in Social Media

Image
"My Wall, My Rules" Several weeks ago a close friend of mine called to check in.  He is a physician.  A wise man I have known for  over 30 years.  We started talking about Social Media and how it has changed and altered our lives.   One concern we both shared is the lack of respect people show each other on social media.  I am the first to admit I have been guilty.   He then shared some wise advice.  He said "Think of your Facebook wall as your living room and give the same respect to others".   He went on to say "If someone posts something you disagree with or it offends you, on their wall ,  say to yourself what you wanted to post and move-swipe on".    If you find a post positive or you like it, Like It.  Even take the time to say something supportive or positive.  In other words use self control.  Be positive.  Be kind.  Sometimes it is better to be kind than right. We both also agreed that you need to let people postin

Brave!

Be Brave!  To Mr Hogge Principal Bountiful High, Regards to Name change: We are the Bountiful Brave. So I checked the dictionary: To be (a) Brave: “ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage.” endure or face (unpleasant conditions or behavior) without showing fear. Google what does the word Brave mean? having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty : having or showing courage a brave soldier a brave smile. This is how I saw/see us? No? Is this not who we are? When you refer to me as an Native American Brave I consider it highest of honors. A show of respect! I do my very best to hold to a standard of excellence that comes with such an honor! That’s what Native American Brave s are! The very best of the best! No Fear! Full of courage! No quit! The leaders of the tribe! Most importantly full of love for their people! Willing to give their life for. Saying this is a racist issue is disgraceful and disrespectful. We as the Bountiful Brave
